Coyote Creek Farms was established near Clayton, Indiana when we the owners Weir and Judith Thurman bought a farm and began construction of their home and kennel on 28 acres of woods, field, and tillable acreage. The goal was to have a fully functioning breeding kennel for two sizes of canines, large and small. At that time Labradoodles were only an Australian breed not seen much here in the United States. We have replaced our large dog line, Great Pyrenese, with the Labradoodle breed. It was one of the happiest changes we have made in our breeding program. Labradoodles are the sweetest breed of dog we have come across. Labradoodles for their size and weight are happy, loving, playful, and intelligent and would love to be a lap dog. Labradoodles don't shed like the Pyr and they don't roam the county like a Pyr.

Labradoodles have the quality of not being over bred to the point of crazy problems that many of the purebred breeds now show. This fact was one of the reasons we chose this breed to develop. The possibilities to develop a good line of Labradoodles are diverse enough that many of the genetic problems of pure bred dogs do not seem to occur. As Labradoodles are Designer Dogs, one can develop a line of dogs to suite. One is not restricted in breeding choices even though there are some who want to set up exclusive breeding patterns to preserve their own lines and thus narrow the gene pool to fit their preferences. We love the challenge of developing a new line of Labradoodles from diverse sources.

We now we have a line of Australian Multi-Gen Labradoodles and two domestic Labradoodle lines. We have developed a remarkable multigenerational line of Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds. Reds, Black and Tans, Dapples, and Red Sables are in our line.

Our licensed, heated facility is nearing completion and will provide a cozy den in addition to the existing runs and romp acreage.
